FAQ

How is Elerio different from other monitoring services?

Three things first of all:

  • Heartbeat monitoring — you ping Elerio from your cron, and it tells you when a job didn't run. Many low-cost services don't have this at all.
  • Region aggregation rule — you can require reachability from a specific region, not just "down in N of M locations".
  • Per-monitor webhooks — different monitors send events to different places, without buying paid connectors.

How often are monitors checked?

It depends on the plan: from 60 seconds on free Hobby to 10 seconds on Enterprise. The minimum interval for each plan is in Plans & limits.

Why doesn't a monitor go "down" immediately after a failure?

Elerio moves a monitor to Down only after two consecutive failed checks. This smooths over brief network glitches and noticeably reduces false alarms.

Can I monitor a server with no ports exposed to the internet?

Yes, in several ways:

  • ICMP ping — a reachability check without an open TCP port.
  • Heartbeat — the server pings Elerio itself from a cron job. Good for machines inside a corporate network.

Is it safe to enter internal addresses?

Elerio deliberately does not allow monitors and webhooks to reach private or internal addresses — this protects against attempts to make the service knock on your internal network. For targets inside a closed perimeter, use heartbeat.

What language is the interface in?

The interface and these docs are available in Russian, English and Kazakh. The language switches inside the app and in the docs header. Emails (signup confirmation and incident alerts) also arrive in your chosen language.

Can I install Elerio as an app?

Yes. Elerio installs on your phone or computer as a standalone app — with its own home-screen icon, launching in its own window without the address bar.

  • Android and desktop (Chrome, Edge): open Settings → Interface and click "Install", or use the install icon in the browser's address bar.
  • iPhone and iPad (Safari): Share menu → "Add to Home Screen".

After installing, notifications and checks work as usual, and if you lose your connection a clean offline page is shown instead of the browser error.

What happens to my data if I downgrade?

Nothing is deleted. If you have more objects than the new plan allows, existing ones are kept — you just can't create new ones above the limit until you free up space. More in Plans & limits.

How do I delete my account?

Contact us — the account is deleted along with all monitors, history and settings.
